Attendance

"Learning is a treasure which will follow its owner everywhere" Chinese Proverb

Children have one chance to attend school and what they achieve during their time in education can have a lasting impact on the rest of their lives. Being in school gives them the best chances of succeeding. Therefore, absence from school will have a negative impact on their learning and chances of thriving in the future.

As a parent, you have a statutory obligation to ensure that your child receives an education whilst they are of school age. If this is done through a school, you are responsible for ensuring their attendance.

As a school, we are obliged to record who is in attendance and report this to the local authority. We also need to know why the child is absent. Should you have difficulties in getting your child to school, please contact us and we can look at ways in which we can support you.

We aim for at least 95% attendance for all of our pupils across the year. This allows for absence brought on by illness and appointments which cannot be booked outside of school hours.
