PE Premium / Sports Grant

The school receives additional funding known widely as either Sports Premium or The Sports Grant.  This funding is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

At Cam Everlands we are proud of our reputation for excellence in sport and physical education. Our aim is to improve both the breadth and quality of PE and sport delivered to our pupils through both the PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.

We have a record of encouraging broad participation in a wide range of activities. Cam Everlands’ teams take part in competitions (tournaments, festivals, galas and athletics events) in twelve different sports/activities – often with much success. These include boys’ football, girls’ football, tag rugby, netball, hockey, boys’ cricket, girls’ cricket, rounders, swimming, athletics, cross-country running and dance. After school clubs or coaching opportunities are offered in all these sports plus tennis, gymnastics and archery. We are able to signpost families to several local sports clubs with whom we have strong links including Cam Cricket Club, Dursley Rugby Club, Dursley Girls Football Club, Everside Football Club, Slimbridge Football Club, Dursley Ladies Hockey Club and Wotton Hockey Club.

We have allocated ours to:

a) Extend the range of extra-curricular sport available to our pupils such as additional cricket, tennis and gymnastics.

b) Improve the skills and knowledge of staff so that they can deliver aspects of the PE curriculum more effectively.

c) Fund new equipment

d) Support the organisation and attendance at sports tournaments

We have added to this page our 2013-14 Impact Evaluation of Sports Premium / Sports Grant in more detail.

We would like you to also know that we achieved our Sainsbury's Gold Award for School Games! This is a tremendous achievement.
