Term 3 and 4 parent news letter

Our trip to St Fagans on Wednesday. What a great time we had looking at the old houses, huts and farm buildings and of course having our lunch!

Welcome to Year 1,Term 1 . Here is our letter to parents with some ideas for you for home learning with your child at home.

Looking forward to an exciting end of the year. Where has this year gone?

Our work for this term. This also includes the home learning information.

All the Year One children made us very proud with their class assembly on Friday all about pirates.

Yo! Ho! Ho! this term our theme will be linked to Pirates!

Welcome back to another exciting term of learning. Here are some Home Learning activities for you to try at home together.

Letter for parents for term 3.

The Year 1 class had a fantastic day at Redwood at the end of term where the children found leaves and named the trees. The lady was so impressed with their tree knowledge. We also made tree pictures using sticks and branches and finished the day with toasting marshmallows by the fire. What a day!

Wow! What an exciting few weeks we have had. Our tiny caterpillars grew and grew and transformed into cocoons. The children have watched daily to check on their progress and finally we were lucky enough to watch them emerge as beautiful butterflies.Today was the day we set them free and watched them fly away.

Welcome to a new term and a new school year. This is the work we shall be covering this term.

Welcome to our last term of the year. Our main text is The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch and we shall be doing lots of activities linked to the seaside.

We had to finish the term by making some chips, just like Oliver,so we washed the potatoes, cut them and chopped them. We then cooked them. The children did not like them .....they loved them!

We had another fantastic day at Redwood yesterday learning more about plants and trees. We love it there!

The children have loved the new Fruit and Veg shop in our classroom. Lots of fresh fruit and veg for sale! They are enjoying looking closely and drawing the fruits too.

Welcome back to a new term. This term we shall be learning about growing plants and identifying common wild and garden plants. Our text will be Oliver's vegetables by Vivien French

We walked to St George's church for an Easter Experience.

Fun at the castle

We had a great day at Berkeley castle. The children had a fantastic time and the adults!

This term, our new topic is 'Knock, Knock, who lives there', and the topic is based around houses and homes. We shall be reading the traditional story of The Three Little Pigs.

It really is cold out there!

'Whatever the weather' is our new topic for this term. We certainly have experienced lots of rain this term so far!

The children were so excited when they entered the Space Dome at the beginning of the new term. This followed with lots of 'space' activites. A great start !

Welcome to term 2. Here are the information sheets for this term.
